Migrate CIvAPP from one Resource Pool to another?

Hi,

I'm looking for a way to migrate/vmotion the VM's in a CIvApp from 1 resource pool to the another in the same OrgVDC. Basically want to vmotion the VM's to another host. The hosts in the other resource pool can see the same storage, so it's simply a case of the VM needing to unregister from the current host and register on another. Is it possible to do this in a supported fashion via the GUI or PowerCLI without doing a copy, as that takes hours and is unnecessary.

In LabManager we would just undeploy and redeploy the configuration and we could choose another cluster.

Thanks!

Ok I've figured out how to do it!

In the vCloud Director GUI: vSphere Resources > Resource Pools > MY_RESOURCE_POOL

Select all VM's, Shutdown, then "Migrate to...", then specify the new Resource Pool and it does the vmotion for you Smiley Happy

Cheers!

Do you have access to vSphere? If so, just use Move-VM with vSphere PowerCLI instead of vCloud.

I do yes, just worried about moving the "vse-Int_NAT (2d75c140-c41a-46e1-922b-ce995a7fb989)-0" vm from the "System vDC" resource pool A to "System vDC" resource pool B. Or should I not worry about moving the NAT Router?

Can you help me understand why you need to move to another resource pool? Are you attempting to migrate it to another Provider VDC or cluster, or just another host?

We want to vacate a 2 host cluster that has 10 CIvApps (10 CIVMs each) on it and migrate those CIvApps/CIVMs to another host cluster within the same OrgVDC.
