vcenter aborts installation !

vCenter Single Sign On installed OK

vCenter Inventory Service installed OK

The installation of vCenter Server aborts when the installation dialog says:

Registering with vCenter Single Sign On

The error message is:

Error 29113. Wrong input - either a command line argument is wrong, a file cannot be found or the spec file doesen't contain the required information, or the clocks on the two systems are not synchronized. Check vm_ssoreg.log in system temporary folder for details.

Log file enclosed.

Do anyone know a solution for this?

i've read this article and for exisiting installation of Vcenter VMware KB: Upgrading to vCenter Server 5.1 fails with the error: Certificate already expired

i can't download the ova file as trial to test

i know the issue is Certificate expired but on i dont have the folder C:\ProgramData\VMware\VMware VirtualCenter\SSL to check !

any suggestions please?

Hi,

Can you try this :

- Use the local administrator account and not an AD account?

- Rename C:\programdata\vmware\vmware virtualcenter\SSL on C:\programdata\vmware\vmware virtualcenter\SSL.old and start the installation of vcenter Server again.

if you look on my post, i already posted your links which didnt fix my problem and neither for the poster!

Julien i've tried it with Local administrator and it didnt works unfortunately! neither i dont have C:\programdata\vmware\vmware virtualcenter\SSL , i see just C:\programdata\vmware\vmware tools !

Are you using Windows Server 2003?

%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\VMware\VMware VirtualCenter would be the correct path there.

Otherwise it should be the following on Windows Server 2008 and later

%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\VMWare\VMware VirtualCenter

my Nslookup works fine no problem with the reverst !

Frank i am on 2008R2 and yes absolutely nothing there, is it possible to Download the Vcenter appliance somewhere here? i can't download it from the download center and dont know why !

i need to the trial version to test before i will buy it!

i am recieving this error when i try to download the Appliance !

You either are not entitled or do not have permissions to download this product.

Check with your MyVMware Super User, procurement contact or administrator.

If you recently purchased this product through VMware Store or through a third-party, try downloading later.

Try this. .. Registera new user (may be with your personnal id) and see , that should work. You will be able to download the trial version of VCVA.

Thank you JD , i managed to download the appliance and install it fine,

two issues till now, i logged to the https site and reconfigure the host name and ip, when i connect to the host it still shows localhost! i've reboot it and still no vail,

when i try to add it to the domain it said no domain controller can be added !

i can ping the domain controller from the Vcetner and it already configured as Vcenter Domain controller

i've added the ESXI host to the VCenter i can see the servers on the ESXI, but there is one warning  agent can't send heartbeats no route to host,

how to fix this?

Try the following steps . Seems like the name resolution to the DC is not working .

   > Remove the VCVA entry from DC/ AD

   > Edit the /etc/hosts file of VCVA and point the DC ip and name

   > Check the Time sync

   > execute this command /opt/likewise/bin/domainjoin-cli --loglevel verbose --logfile . join  <domain>  <account> <password>

  >  Ensure that the domain joined correctly via this command : /opt/likewise/bin/lw-get-status

  > Restart and check if all set

info is the username

Seems like the VCVA cannot resolve / reach the domain

ill wait for some time to see if it will resolve and try it one more time, is not critucal if i don't add the Vcenter to the domain?

i am back and still the same issue !

is it critical if the Vcenter not added to the domain? also i need to install Web client for Vcenter Appliance is this possible?
