Can you confirm if you have the compatibility mode ON for IE 9. Here is another discussion thread that might help to resolve your issue - Initial login configuration prevented by browser incompatibility
Thank you -- Compatibility Mode was NOT on when I encountered the behavior described.
FYI -- I did not receive any Browser Compability messages per the other discussion thread.
Can you share the exact IE browser version with build number and the client OS version with service pack number.

I was happy I didn't have to re-enter data (and actually a little surprised that I didn't have to re-enter password credentials).
