Host Profiles Question

Hi,

I'm running through our hosts at the moment upgrading to 5.1 U1a and as I'm nearing the end I thought I'd have a look at Host Profiles. I understand the concept and I think I already know the answer but I need some clarification:

If I create a profile from the host then upgrade the host to 5.1 U1a via the VUM and apply the profile from the same host will it revert the host back to the previous version? Or does it apply the configuration only?

Host profiles do not affect the version of software installed just the configuration

That is correct that host profile from say a 5.0 to a 5.1 should work, but I have had issues with some configuration settings not matching up exactly between different versions.  My personal preference is to always create a new host profile from a freshly built host.
