We have a Dell M620 with Intel 10GbE/FCoE Dual KR X-520 Mezzanine cards. We are installing ESXi 5.1. From my research, it looks like I will not see an "HBA" reference until I configure a "software FCoE initiator".
(1) I was wondering if the need to use a "software FCoE initiator". is dependent on the FCoE card you use?.
(2) If it is, could someone tell me if the Qlogic QME8262-k FCoE shows up as an HBA without the need for the "software FCoE initiator".
