You should be able to access the vsphere UI using your vCenter accounts, however if you set up a new role with specific permissions, make sure that the "Global > vCenter Operations Manager Admin" or "Global > vCenter Operations Manager User" privelge is enabled for those roles.

Hi kopper27,

For the vSphere UI - the default interface - the users are managed through vCenter.  So, your AD users would need to be given permissions there.

In other words, you don't need to integrate AD with vCenter Operations, just vCenter server.

I am confused here the vCenter Op access is to the VM or to the admin webpage?

https://IP/vcops-vsphere

since I ca  access the dashboard only using the admin account not my AD account which is vcenter administrator

I have my users in Active Directory groups so I removed the groups and add them back....

Maybe the the roles were not updated

Interesting, maybe that's the case - but glad it worked anyway!
