Unable to see registered plug-in in the vsphere web-client 5.1

Hi,

I able to register my plug-in successfully through old Windows vSphere Client after registering, I can see the my new plug-in in  Plug-in Manager view. When I start virgo server for my new vCenter web client and check server log, I can see message about my sample plug-in get downloading in the log file without any error. I  also verified it downloaded properly at this location  "..../All Users/Application Data/VMware/vSphere Web Client/vc-packages/vsphere-client-serenity" but I could not find my plug-in in web-client UI.

Is anything else I need to do to see this plug-in in UI?

Deploying the plugin package correctly is good, but there are many other things that could be wrong an explain why the UI is not showing up.

1) Any other errors in the Virgo or Flex log related to your plugin once the user logs in?

2) Does this plugin work when you run in dev mode inside Eclipse or STS?

3) See the check-list in the FAQ doc called "UI extension missing or not working"

Hi Laurent,

could you please provide a link on the below mentioned FAQ document

3) See the check-list in the FAQ doc called "UI extension missing or not working"

This would be very helpful.

Thanks

This doc is not online, it is part of the SDK documentation that is included in the SDK download  (in 5.1 you need to get the separate file updated-sdk-doc.zip from the SDK download page, this will be fixed in future versions)

Hi Laurent,

thanks for the quick response, now i'am aware of the FAQ.

Hopefully not seeing the plugin was caused by the multi vCenter situation:

the host specific plugin was registered with an empty vCenter; now it is clear that the

plugin is not valid for other vCenters with hosts until the plugin is registered for

these vCenters , too.
