Can not get to fusion menu while running windows 8

I had the little fusion menu on the side of my screen which annoyed me so I chose to hide it.  I thought I could always get to it by pushing my pointer to the top of the screen.  I now see the "hand" when I push my pointer to the top of the screen, but the menu choices up there never appear again.  How can I get the menu back?

thanks

Launch Fusion

Go to Settings ( from Virtual machine menu ) > Application menu > Show applications menu in menu bar : choose always or always while fusion is running.

When in Full Screen you can try pressing Shift-Command-M to toggle the hide flag on the "Hide Menu Bar in Full Screen" command as shown  in the image below.

The other option is to switch to Single Window view (Control-Command-F or Control-Command-Enter) and then adjust the "Full Screen Minibar" and or the "Hide Menu Bar in Full Screen" View menu commands and then return to Full Screen.

I already had the menu set to show always but that does not help.  It seems that it is not working correctly.  I see the "hand" cursor at the top but the menu never comes down.

Control-Command-F does work and solves my problem.

thanks
