SNMP trap in vSphere

Hi Guys,

Just want to know in detail about SNMP trap in vSphere and how to configure a new vSphere for monitoring. what would be the best practice to configure SNMP (on ESX/ESXi host or vSphere center server).

Please suggest.

There are no real best practices regarding this afaik. You just configure a receiver and from there on you work your way as with any other SNMP trap.

You can configure SNMP traps via vCenter under the "vCenter Server Settings", section "SNMP".
