Mouse Cursor issues with Windows 7

I have a client who is telling me that they are having issues with the mouse cursor in View. They are running View 5.0 with Windows 7 32+64bit Pools. The issue has been reported in both. I have included a photo of what they are telling me is happening. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue and possibly has a solution. As always, any help would be greatly appreciated.

The mouse cursor apparently will occasionally ghost and show multiple cursors at once. That's the description I've been given. I have not seen it in person as the issue cannot be re-produced at will and appears to be random.

I've seen some ghost/overlapped images when users were using RDP instead of PCoIP.

They are using PCOIP

Hi,

Are you using thin client to connect to virtual desktop ? Upgrade firmware on that thin client.

No, they are using the View client from Window's machines.

I've cranked the video memory settings on the parent to max of 128mb of memory and the issue still occurs, any other suggestions?

Did you do any kind of PCoIP optimization, I am primarly thinking if disableing build-to-lossless could cause this?

Also try to update one of your client to latest agent (5.1.2) and if that does not help the client (5.2)

Build to Lossless is not disabled so that's not a factor. I'm running View 5.0.1 build-640055 and to my understanding you can not install a different version of the agent from what the server is running.

That should be fine in a test-scenario just to see if the problem goes away.

You could do it manually on just one desktop.

I tried updating the agent and that did not help the situation.

I saw something similar the other day and it was solved by turning off "Mouse Trails"

Are you using a thin client to make the connection?  If so, what brand?  We had this problem and it was no the VM itself that was the issue, it was the thin client that was causing the issue.  We were given an add on to install and it has taken care of the very same problem that you are having.

We ran into a mouse cursor issue the other day where it just dissapears after moving your mouse over text inside of a program like Word for example.

Turns out the user had set the DPI to the "Larger - 150%" setting, once this is turned back down to "Smaller - 100% (default)" the mouse cursor works fine.

Found another workaround where you set the mouse to a different icon set in mouse properties and the cursors work again. Seems the "Aero" icon set (default mouse icons) is the one with the problem at the 150% display size.

We are having the same issue with our VDI machines.  Our ThinClients are running View Client 5.2 on Windows 7 Embedded Standard ThinPC.  No particular event the cursor flips to look like the original posters' cursor.  Eventually, the cursor returns to the normal arrow pointer.  The time to refresh varies.  Disconnecting from your View session and reconnecting doesn't always fix the issue. We do not have mouse trails enabled.

Was there ever a resolution to this original issue or did you just tell your users to suck it up?
