I'm trying to use Synology DS713+ as iSCSI array for ESXi 5.1 host.
3. I see correct TargetName in Static Discovery tab, but list of devices is empty
4. I'm able to ping as well as vmkping the iSCSI array and I can reach the iSCSI TCP port 3260 on the storage array from the ESXi host using netcat along to http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1003952
5. I see connection failure in /var/log/vmkernel.log

Make sure your array is running the latest DSM code; previous revs of code had iSCSI issues with VMware ESXi 5.
I've also had this happen on older DSM code and a restart of the array resolved it. You might also try that.
Thanks for tips. But our array is running the latest DSM 4.1-2668 code. And no change after reboot.
I've submitted Synology support form but no answer yet.
It looks like some iSCSI implementation on DSM problem. I've ceated NFS share on Synology and I can add NFS storgare to ESXi host.
