Alarm Scripts - How to do them right?

    KWKirchner Novice

We are trying to set up a script to make some guest VM changes after certain events occur.

The alarm is configured using the infamous redir.bat file with the powershell script listed as the argument.  This all works fine and the script is called without issue and makes the required VM changes.

What is not happening is a clean response to vCenter that the alert script ran as intended. We see these entries on the VM:

Alarm 'Desktop Change' on GUEST-VM did not complete script: A general system error
occurred: Failed to run script: Script timed out, terminated

So in light of the script actually running and working correctly, what kind of return value is vCenter expecting to indicate all is well?
