Unable to recompose a pool - Failed to add deployment group for vm (View 5.1.1)

Would anyone be able to provide any insight to the following errors? I've received this while trying to update a few pools, the only solution I've found to get around this is to completely delete the effected pool and regenerate it.  I haven't been able to find much reference to this error either.  Please feel free to ask any follow-up questions if needed, we're running View 5.1.1 build-799444. Any troubleshooting recommendations are greatly appreciated.

Have you tried to delete all the snapshots from the template VM, create a new snapshot and edit the pool to use this snapshot?  I know this may be a long shot, but I have found this helpful at times.

I haven’t tried to delete all the snapshots; however I am able build a new pool from the same templates and snapshot.  With that being said I don’t think it’s the snapshot, I tried creating another snapshot to update the problematic pool but it generates the same error as in my original post.

I've confirmed - deleting all snapshots did not resolve either.

I found this KB article when researching the ADMIN_SVI_ADD_DEPLOYMENT_GROUP_FAILED error event.

When checked, your error translates to ADMIN_SVI_ADD_DEPLOYMENT_GROUP_FAILED which when I researched turned up that KB article.

Has anyone found a solution to this in 5 years? I'm experiencing the same problem. VMWare told me to update VMTools and Agent. I did and still failing with the same error.
