Want to run VMWare Workstation on Intel Core 2 Duo processor without VT-X support

Hello Experts,

I have to run VMWare Workstation 9 on my Dell Vostro 1310 laptop which has Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T5670

Im unable to run 64-bit OSs on VMWare workstation 9, its insisting on VT-x support which my laptop does not have.

Intel documentation says this processor does not support Virtulization (VT-X).

Any solution for this problem, is there any way I can trick VMWare to make it run 64 bit OSs or any solution to enable VT-x on Intel-Core2-Duo-Processor-T5670 based laptop?

PFA the screenshot of VMWare .. when Im trying to run a 64-bit guest OS.

Kindly help me out, thanks in advance.

The error message that you've attached is from Oracle's Virtual Box, not VMWare Workstation. Different company, different product. You should probably try an Oracle forum, you will probably get a better response. Just sayin....

Hello all,

I, too, need to be able to run a VM with a Win 7 64-bit OS on an Intel box, but in my case, it supports Intel VT-x, but I can not enable it.

The error message I get is as follows:

Workstation Capture.JPG

The issue I have is that that option is not exposed in the BIOS. I am running the most current version of the BIOS. I have contacted the manufacturer of the computer to see if there are any options available to update the bios to expose this parameter, but there are no guarantees, hence my attempt to reach out into the VMWare community to see if there is anyone who knows of a vmx file switch / parameter that I can use to bypass this check and / or somehow allow VMWare Workstation to operate in this environment.

Any and all input is appreciated.

Thank you.

Assuming that you added a wrong screenshot,

what you are looking for is not possible. It cannot be done.

Note: Please do not consider my comments/suggestions as an official response from VMware.
