chkdsk on vhd volume - how is this done

Hi Forum,

I am getting an error stating that the VHD volume is corrupted. How is a chkdsk ran on this volume?

I have ran a chkdsk on the local drives and it shows no errors. I am suspecting that when the system state backup occurs, it is creating a corrupted VHD file. Any suggestions or ideas would be welcomed. I have this occuring on several servers and have not been able to locate how to remedy this situattion.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank-you..

Kathe

Thank-you for you reply.

My understanding is that the vhd file is created via a snapshot of the vmware guest during the system state backup.  Is this not correct?

I am suspecting that when it is creating a system state backup of the vmguest, that the ntfs of the vmguest is corrupted.

I have ran a check disk on the local drives of the guest and and it found no problems. (c,d,x).

The error I am getting to to run a checkdsk on the VHD volume, but where is this volume located.
