vCenter Inventory Service Bad request

I have the service starting OK, just in case I also used

http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=2017750&sliceId=1&doc...

But accessing the page directly gives me

HTTP ERROR 400

Problem accessing /. Reason:

    Bad request

Powered by Jetty://

And using Web Client , it fails with the error: unable to connect to vCenter Inventory Service

Anybody has any more ideas?

That is exactly what I have already done (same steps as per KB mentioned in my first post!)

Makes no difference

Same here, tried those steps, no go.  Still get HTTP ERROR 400.  Any ideas?
