Thin Clients and Zero clients not supported in View 5.1

I posted this discussion to help those who are trying to upgrade to view 5.1 and run into problems with view 5.1 client issues.

Hopefully we can use this thread to share our experience with this issue and maybe come up with some solutions.

Dell FX160 embedded XPsp2: Will not connect to View 5.1 connection server. Dell has no plans to fix this problem.

Right now I am testing IGEL Universal Desktop thin client software. So far I have been able to connect to View 5.1

connection server and I have tested several usb devices. I will continue further testing to make sure it works in our enviroment

and will report back my results.

Don't forget about the thin client compatibility guide, http://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/search.php?action=base&deviceCategory=vdm.     Although it does state that  OptiPlex FX160 with XPe SP2 does support 5.1 so it may not be accurate.

Thats funny they just updated the hardware compatibility list. I talked with Dell and they told me they do not support

FX160 with View 5.1. Their reason is View 5.1 requires XPsp3.

Further bug-fixes or new ZC-Software release at the moment not planned!
