Why does it take so long to update your status in VMware portal ?

Hi,

I recently passed my VCP exam. Yay. However, as per my last exam, it takes weeks to update your status. I really don't see why it needs to take up to 4 weeks to update their website, as I am sure it is not manual. Does anyone have any idea why it takes so long?

The team behind it has to handle a lot of requests. This is why it takes a while. Best thing you can do is just wait or if you are in a hurry e-mail them at certifications@vmware.com.

Have you had an email from the Certification team yet?

You will be asked to confirm your shipping adress and a couple of other tasks - they won't update your transcript til you've completed those tasks.

Check your spam/junk email folder in case your email system has trapped the email.

I just looked at my pending tasks on the website and have none. All my details are correct as I passed my VCA4-DT a while back. Just a waiting game I guess. I did email them to give them a gentle nudge so I am sure if I have any outstanding actions, they will let me know!

Was it VCP5-DV that you passed? If so, have you met the training requirement?

I only ask as VCA4-DT doesn't have such a requirement, but VCP does...

No, The exam passed was VCP4. I have also met the training requirements for the VCP4 as I did the ICM for it ages (and ages) ago and it shows up in my training portfolio on the VMware site.

From what you've said, you should have received an email from the team as per my first reply.

Now you've contacted them I would suggest to wait for their reply.
