Thinprint and default printer

We are running a Windows 7 non-persistant linked clone pool on VMware View 5.1.1 and vSphere 5.1a. The clients are a mix of Windows 7, zero clients and Linux clients.

The users select the network printers they want, and set the  default printer themself. We do not use location based printing gpo or logon script to map printers. We have set the "DefaultState" reg key to 0, so that local windows printers are not set to default printer in the vm. This works fine. The users who uses Windows clients, get the correct noetwok printer as their default printer.

The problem is with the users using zero clients or Linux. When they log on the vm, the default printer i set to "Microsoft XPS Document Writer". If we stop the Thinprint autoconnect service on the vm's, all users get the correct default printer. (but then of course Windows users don't get their local printers mapped...)

We have also noticed that with some printer drivers, this is not an issue. These printer are also installed much faster on the vm..

Any suggestions?
