If I get the red-line strikeout on the https address to the View Connection Server on the iPad client...Does that mean that the connection is not encrypted?

Or does it mean that the connection is encrypted, just without a trusted certificate connection brokered between the iPad client to the View Connection or Security server on the other end?

I just want to know if the red-line strikeout on the https address to the View Connection Server on the iPad VMware View client means that the client is passing a raw password to the View Connection Server...Or is the iPad VMware View client is passing an encrypted password to the View Connection Server...But the View Connection Server is just not explicitly trusted.

No, since you are using an iPad to connect to your VDI-VM, than the issue is from Security Server Certificate, you need to renew your Security Certificate and install it again

Here the steps

if you can't connect becuse red line in HTTPS, then tell the View Admin to change the connection setting to let anyone

to use HTTP from external Users in View Security Server.

if you can connect without any issue even with red line in HTTPS, that mean yes your connection is uncrypted because

the view Security (security certicate expire)

Addendum: I should have added "please," "thank you for reading this" and "any help would be appreciated" to that last post!

I really need to remember my forum manners.

VMware View 5.1 uses Windows 2008 R2 certificate management tools now instead of a Java keystore.

No, the connection data is always encrypted because it connects to Connect Server with https protocol. The red-line strikeout https address means the certification of the Connection Server can be not trust by the view client. Please try to install the valid certificate in view client and check whether the problem can be resolved.
