Mac OS X is not supported with binary translation.

Hello Forum!

Because of my Project for the  school leaving examination, I need to run the Mac OS X Lion in my VMware player.

When I want to start the VM, i get this Error:

>>Mac OS X is not supported with binary translation. To run Mac OS X you need a host on which VMware Player supports Intel VT-x or AMD-V.<<

Its my first use of the VMware player, so i don't really know what to do.

Could anybody help me, and say whats the problem and how can i fix it?

best regards from Austria, Franz

First of all VMware does not support running any version of Mac OS X under VMware Player/Workstation and secondly Apple's SLA for Mac OS X Lion, specifically section 2B(iii), requires it be virtualized while running under Mac OS X Lion itself much less compliance with all other SLA requirements like installed on Apple-branded hardware, etc.  So since VMware PlayerWorkstation runs under Linux/Windows and your not virtualizing Mac OS X Lion on apple branded hardware while running under Mac OS X Lion then help cannot be provided to you as it could/would be deemed a violation of the VMware Community Terms of Use in the use case scenario you're attempting.

If you have a need to run Mac OS X in a Virtual Machine then buy and Mac and install VMware Fusion and run it in compliance with its SLA, then help will be available.
