ESXI stuck on ipmi_si_drv, SuperMicro S6036T-3R

I bought a Supermicro S6036T-3R right off of the VMware ESXI 5.0 HCL.

On boot up of the disk it gets stuck at ipmi_si_drv.

I've tried turning on/off IPMI with no luck and I've read a lot of issues with this regarding older versions of ESXI but nothing helpful.

There is no IPMI module installed nor is there anyway beyond the BIOS to disable it.

Running the recomended BIOS too, 2.0C.

Thanks

I had the same issue on the ASUS Z8NA-D6 motherboard, however only with ESXi 5.0 Update 1.

ESXi 5.0 went past the ipmi_si_drv message during install after a brief pause. Resolved by removing the ASMB4 management board. Now ESXi 5.0 Update 1 is happily installing.

Hope this helps.
