I recommend using the IBM customized image:

http://www-03.ibm.com/systems/x/os/vmware/esxi/

Also, some modules simply aren't supported from 4.X to 5.X, you will have the option to remove them during the upgrade. However, the updated versions should be in the vendor customized image or can be added as an offline bundle to Update Manager.

Hi  chriswahl

I used the IBM iso but the problem remains.

Thanks

Can you try the process out on a test server? I can't speak for IBM but on HP you get the same issue. Basically its telling you the drivers can't be updated, but if you are using the esxi 5 customised image, then the required drivers will be present anyway. As ever though, best to test any upgrade on a non-production server.

System Settings --> Miscellaneous --> Allow commands on USB interface
