Some rumors was talking about:

• VCA5-DT (estimated availability late 2011)
• VCP5-DT (estimated availability early 2012)

But the beta isn't start yet... so maybe some official announce will be made at the VMworld EU.

Also it's strange that there isn't any news about the VCAP*-DT certification.

I've got no news yet on dates for the View 5 certifications.

The VCAP5 certifications have gone through their survey process, next will come the beta exam for each of them - I've got no firm dates for those.

Would you guys recommend waiting for the VCA5-DT or just go ahead with VCA4-DT?

This depends on how you are "ready" for the exam.

If you have to start to study, maybe could be better wait.

But you have already study something, then go with the current exam.

PS: do you know that VCA-DT is no more required fro VCP-DT?

VCP5-DT beta period has started today.

Strange that has started BEFORE the VCA5-DT?! Maybe this exam will be retired? Or simply was priority for the VCP5-DT?

Beta is only by invite. The VCP5 is required.

I don't think VCP5 should be a requirement for Desktop Certification as long as you have VCP4.

Any news on the VCA5-DT exam?  We've seen the other ver 5 exams come thru and I've seen study guides / books for VCA5-DT but nothing in Vue or on the vmware cert page.  Any target dates?  Thanks!!

Really good question... no news... seems no beta... so quite hard to say if the exam remain or when will be released.

At this point I'm start thinking that there will be no VCA5-DT at all

Now VCAP5-DCA beta and VCAP5-DCD will soon start... I think could be better focus on VCAP5-DT.

The idea of an Associated certification if good... but IMHO must be defined also for the datacenter path...

But at this point could be better give more priority to finalize other certifications.
