Installing ESX 5.x (offline bundle) without isolating the SAN

Dinny Davies, wrote a best practice guide on how to install ESX 3 & 4 without isolating the SAN (http://communities.vmware.com/docs/DOC-1195).

I'm lookig for a simular guide for ESXi 5.x both using ISO and Offline Bundle.

Does anyone know is such a guide exists?

Note that during the installation you are notified of which storage is local and which is shared.

One simple solution is temporally mask at storage side.

For upgrade or offline bundle really is not necessary... only the ESXi banks are involved... not the other partitions.

Just an update.

I VMware sugested as Andre that I use a ClaimRule to unmask all SAN LUN's.

The day after I recieved a link for a blog (from my mold in VMware ), about how to Unmask LUN's during unattended installations on ESXi 5 🙂
