You can verify on hcl wich is better use according with vendor model of storage - www.vmware.com/go/hcl
check out the storage guide it has some info on multipathing
also as already stated recommendations vary between vendors and the storage capabilities.
eg ALUA enabled storage arrays generally use Round Robin
, we are using MRU what are the difference between MRU and Round Roubin.
Most Recently Used - The host uses the most recent path to the disk until this path becomes unavailable. That is, the host does not revert back until this path becomes unavailable. A failover to a new path is performed. If the original path comes back up, the host does not fail back to the original path. Most Recently Used is the default policy for active-passive storgage devices and is required for those devices.
Round Robin - The host uses a path selection algorithm that rotates through all available paths. In addition to path failover, the Round Robin policy supports load balancing across the paths. Before using this policy, check with storage vendors to find out if Round Robin configuration is supported on their storage.
