Vsphere 4.1 update 2 and View 4.6

I tried searching to see if anybody is using Vsphere 4.1 update 2 in a view 4.6 environment but I couldn`t find anything. We by mistake added another host in our VDI cluster that had Vsphere 4.1 update 2, all the other servers in the same cluster are Vsphere 4.1 update 1. We are seeing some random problems occurring on the Vsphere 4.1 update 2 server. Randomly when a new vm is created on the new update 2 server we see an error message creating vm in view manager. We have to delete the new machine and let it recreate the vm again before it will work correctly on the same update 2 server. Another problem we get some vm`s show agent unavailable. We have to power off the vm and migrate to another host before the agent shows available. I am trying to decide wether to remove the host and reload Vsphere update 1 or update Vcenter, hosts and all the vm`s to update 2. I am having second thoughts of upgrading to update 2. I would appreciate anybody feedback. Sorry if this was discussed before.

We use vSphere 4.1U2 with our View 4.6 enviornment and all works very well, and is supported.  With that said, your vCenter Server and it's Hosts should all be at the same build level, which is U2. Are you running a mixed environment?  From what I gathered from your post, vCenter is not yet U2?

Correct Vcenter is update 1 and not update 2. That is why I said we made a mistake when we added the host in the cluster with update 2. I did not see any documentation that said View 4.6 supports Vsphere 4.1 update 2.

I would be willing to bet if you update vCenter, which should always go first in the upgrade order, to U2, it will resolve the inconsistencies you see

Tthat is what I was looking for. Yes I agree 100% with you. You have to upgrade VC first then the hosts and then the vm`s.

Thanks
