ESXi 5.0 is installed on Intel Modular ( MFSYS25 ) server which have 64 bit instruction set. Virtualization (VT) option is also enabled from BIOS but i receive following error message during the power on the VM which created with 64bit instruction set.
"64 bit operation is not possible. Longmode is disabled for this Virtual machine"
Please help out
Please provide (attach) the VM's latest vmware.log file to see which CPU flags are detected by ESXi. Btw. which CPU do you use.
André

You'll need to be running VMware Workstation 8. See the additional settings for this here - http://communities.vmware.com/docs/DOC-8970.
Thanks Dave. Let me try then.:)
Thank you all for replying of my question.
This issue has been resolved. We have to add vhv.allow = "TRUE" at the end of config file (/etc/vmware/config).
In addition of my last post, you will have to reboot the host machine otherwise changing will not be affect. I get solution of this problem from the following URL.
http://www.virtuallyghetto.com/2011/07/how-to-enable-support-for-nested-64bit.html
Why do you reply to a very old post without giving any of the relevant details ?
Create a new post and provide details such as ESXi version, CPU-details, guestOS you want to run and latest vmware.log from that VM.
