View 5 Windows 7 video playback performance issues

Hi there

We are in the middle of a View 5 pilot, We have deployed a fresh View 5 environment with Windows 7 SP1 desktops, tweaked using the available best practises. the master VM is set to use the 3D VMware tools driver, 3D enabled on the virtual video card, VMXNET3 set for the nic. The Replica image for the linked clones also resides on SSD.

However video playback is noticably sluggish, we have tried adding more video ram upto 128Mb and also setting the master VM with 2vCPUs and 3Gb RAM but nothing seems to fix the video playback.

The VM hardware is version 8 with the latest VM tools, we are using the PCOIP protocol.

any suggestions?

Same issues here:

Even went so far as to give 2 dual core cpu's or even one quad core. Video RAM maxed out, support for 4 monitors at max resolution, 3d support on at 128 MB RAM, no flash throtttling.

What I have not done yet is to download the video to the clone and play it there to eliminate the possibility of internet bottlenecks. I will pull down the video and play it there to see if it helps. We were trying to play an HD clip from YouTube.
