VCD and Fault Tolerance set by an Org/Org VDC

Hi All,

I've gotten VCD running in a lab at the moment looking into features and how things all slot together. One thing I have not been able to find anything about is how can and Org enable and turn on FT for a vApp/VM that they load up? I've looked thru all the manuals and gone hunting in the menus but can't find a way to turn it on from within the GUI.

If you can't turn it on within the GUI can you enable it by default for a pool?

Cheers

Fault Tolerance is not currently supported for workloads managed by vCloud Director.

Thanks for the fast reply,

Is this being planned? It's a useful feature to have

Tristram,

FT is very usefull, but currently (even on vSphere 5.0) you are limited to only 4 FT VMs (Primary or Secondary) per ESXi host. So in a cloud where you have many tenants you will have to limit who can enable/disable FT and Turn On/Off FT.

In addition, Turn On/Off FT is dependant on the hardware platform. On some systems you can Turn On FT without having to power-off the VM, on others constructor you need to power-off the VM (Using the same Xeon 5649 processors on HP DL380G7 and IBM HS22v you have different behaviour)

And you would also need to integrate the SiteSurvey analysis process, and allow your tenant to inflate his VMDK if you have a vCloud using NFS. That is a lot of stuff to add to vCloud and validate.
