Monitoring Bad Session States

What is the recommended practice to monitor bad sessions states within View? For example, if the Status of a desktop is "Agent Unreachable" or "Configuration Error", it'd be nice for it to shoot the admin an email. I'd like it to be as real-time as possible, but the best I can think of is either using PowerCLI or querying the event database through a looped process. Has anyone tried this before?

Here is a blog post where someone wrote a script to reported on provisioning errors.   They are using the events DB and emailing results so it may give you a good place to start.
