Time sychronization fails

Linux mint VM's automatically sychronize the date and time with the host when resuming from a suspend, but vectorlinux (slackware) do not.  Settings are the same in the .vmx's except the guestOS.  Both have vmware tools installed.  Typing vmware-toolbox shows the "time synchronization" as enabled.  What else could be wrong?

Found what the issue was with vectorlinux time synchronization. You must enable the vmware-guestd service - it is not enabled by default. Under

Vector Control Center -  SERVICE - Services - Graphical user interface desktop - vmware-tools: vmware-tools daemon
