3D Acceleration in linux guest?

Having a heck of a time getting a current and definative answer on this.

Is 3D acceleration supported in Linux Guests such as Fedora 15 or Ubuntu (natty)? I'd like to try out Unity and or Gnome 3, but they both require 3D acceleration.

I'm not able to view those links for some reason. Says i'm unauthorized. I'm new to the forums, but this doesn't seem normal to me.  =|

I get the same unauthorised message. Does your link point at a beta testers forum?

I would second a plea for OpenGL 3D acceleration, with both Ubuntu and Gnome making full use of accelerated graphics in their new window managers it means that the attractions of using Workstation from a Windows host are rapidly being eroded,

Sorry. I'm in the VMware Fusion beta program and assumed that content was available to all VMware community users.

Basically, a VMware employee states that 3D support for Linux is currently not included in the beta and they do not discuss the contents of future products.

I understand this is the Windows VMware Workstation forum, but I suspect that's the same answer for both platforms.

Supported? No  You can do a search for vmwgfx and find more info.

I want to add my support for this feature as well.  It is pretty much a dealbreaker that I would consider parallels for.

Add my vote for this, too.   Especially since it seems Virtualbox supports it.   (I'm on the fence between paying for Workstation 8, which will leverage my existing VMware-user knowledge, and getting Virtualbox for free and paying in time for the learning curve...   C'mon, VMware!   Keep ahead of Virtualbox and make my decisions easy!)
