How to connect iSCSI SAN with host profiles

I am looking for a way to use host profiles for connect iSCSI SAN LUN´s as I only found the possibility to connect NFS storage over it.

I am using ESXi 4.1 U1 hosts and created a profile from a "golden" host, but cant find the settings for the iscsi SAN, only for NFS.

Is it basically possible or should I take a script? If script, does anyone have a PowerCLI script for me that I can adjust?

Thanks in advance

that's not true... host profile supports all iscsi adapter types.

You should be able to right click under storage host profile and add sw iscsi, if you have not enabled it before creating host profile. Other type, indpendent or dependent hw iscsi adapters, should show up w/o this trick.

After that, you should be able to add discovery address, static targets, etc.

The recommended sequence would be config. iscsi adapter, create vmfs on it, and make sure storage is seen before creating host profile on refernce host.

Not sure how you find out it's not supported.
