HA cluster with mixed 4.x and 5.0 hosts?

I have been looking for some notes about this, but havent found so far: is it supported to have a HA cluster with both 4.x and 5.0 hosts together?

Since the radical changes in 5.0 which does not seem to be compatible with the older AAM version there is some interesting questions: does the 4.x hosts have their own "internal" HA cluster with primary/secondary nodes and the 5.0 hosts have their master/slaves?

Yes, mixed clusters are supported. The new HA agent (fdm) will be installed on pre-5.0 hosts when HA is enabled on them.

Thank you for your reply. That was very interesting. If you have a 4.x cluster with HA (aam) and upgrade the vCenter Server, will the FDM agent replace the older version on all 4.x hosts?
