Planning virtual networking

Hi everyone, I hope this is the correct forum for this.   I'm planning to virtualize a customers server and would like some pointers in how to think when planning the network infrastructure. The server has Win 2003 server installed today, and I will use VMware Converter to change it into a virtual machine, hopefully with as little changing the current config as possible. This is where my problem comes in.   Today there is 2 wan connections to this server. 1 is for internet, the other is connected to a permanent VPN connection (through a Cisco 1800) to the head office. Within the building we have a wired network as well as a wireless network containing 2 VLAN's. These are "filtered" in the 2003 server where the wired network and one of the VLAN's connect directly to the internet while the other is teamed with the VPN connection, simply passing the traffic through to the head office network. It's a very nice setup that has been working like a charm for well over 3 years.   What's your thoughts about how to do when I move this setup to an ESXi 4.1 server? Should I keep the VLAN "filtering" within the 2003 virtual server or should I move the VLAN handling to the host? While I have bad experiences with virtual LANs running in virtualised environments, I also don't have enough experience planning this setup in VMware.  Any thoughts or suggestions greatly appriciated!
