vSwitch ports question!

Hi All,

After running into the problem of an disconnected nic after vmotion.

I began troubleshooting the issue.

It turns out that the  Num Ports is not the same as the Configured Ports.

Switch Name    Num Ports   Used Ports  Configured Ports  MTU     Uplinks
vSwitch2                 64               60                 128            1500    vmnic4,vmnic1,vmnic5

Does anyone have an Idea what caused this and how to resolve it?

Has this vSwitch been reconfigured (changing the number of ports)? After modifying this setting a host reboot is required.

Hi Andre,

Thanks for your response.

I think this is what happend. I have been investigating the issue and I think the the number of ports have been upgraded but the ESX hosts hasn't been rebooted.
