We have an active support contract for VMware ESX/ESXi 4.1 and vCenter Server Standard 4.1
I noticed today that I can now download ESXi 5 and VIC 5 as well.
However when I go to download vCenter Server 5 it says I am not entitled to it. Anyone know why?
Still waiting on my license keys to process for v5. Can't wait to upgrade!
This help ?

Yeah I saw that when I logged into the portal. I figured if I was able to download ESXi I would surely also be able to download vCenter 5.
Maybe it hasn't finished processing all the way. I'll give it a few days..
I guess my question is if you have an active contract for vCenter 4.1 you are entitled to vCenter 5 right?
If you have an active support contract then you'll be able to download vCenter 5 and get a license key for it.
I tried to download this for one of my customers and ran into the same error. Hopefully it should work by the end of the week.
Awesome, that's all I needed. Thanks.
Need to be patient I guess
Get the "evaluation" version you have 60 days to license it.
I have vSphere 5.0 Standard but when I try to dowload vCenter 5.0 it says "Sorry, at the moment you are not authorized to download VMware vCenter Server 5.0 and modules." I have tried registering my serial number but it hasn't helped.
Are you upgrading from vSphere 4 and if so have you upgraded your license key?
https://www.vmware.com/products/vsphere/upgrade-center/licensing.html
If you have license keys for VMware vSphere 4 with active support and subscription, you are eligible to upgrade these license keys to VMware vSphere 5 for free on the VMware license portal:
Yes, I have upgraded my license to v5. In my account it shows "VMware vSphere 5 Standard for 1 processor (with 32 GB vRAM entitlement per processor)".

That's because until your licensing is ACTIVE as vSphere 5 licenses you can't download from the "licensed" downloads. Get the ISO's from the evaluation downloads, they are the SAME thing. You have 60 days to license them, surely in that time your licenses will be upgraded and you can apply your licenses later.
Did you also upgrade your vCenter license?
I've been working this with VMware support as I am in the same boat.
I can download ESXi 5 but I cannot download vCenter 5 because it says I am not authorized.
I have valid support contracts for both.
VMware has acknowledged that this is an issue, I have them scratching their heads right now trying to figure it out.

Evaluation copy. Register. It's the *SAME* ISO. Your license will give you time to register it LATER. you would have it ALREADY.
Download vCenter from below URL

Check below guides for more details,
I think I've figured out the problem - I misread the vSphere 5 product page. I thought that vSphere 5 Standard included vCenter, but I guess it does't. That explains why I'm not authorized to download it! I guess this means that the Data Backup & Recovery feature is useless since it requires vCenter. Ugh I should have just bought the Essentials kit then and saved $500.

So the VM Ware guys didn't realize this? No wonder they are scratching..
No my issue is definately something wrong with their end. We purchased vCenter previously and have an active support contract on it.
VMware has acknowledged we are entitled to vCenter 5. They said they are having serious issues rolling out upgrade licenses to many customers.
We are expected to have full upgrade and download rights in the next 3 days or so.
