Hope soon .. so tired of paper releases
I too had seen mon 22nd as the reported release date 😕
Can anyone shed any light on the GA date for vSphere 5?
Maybe they wait until the VMWorld and release it Friday / Monday
Usually they keep the older 4.0 versions (which are no longer available). After they remove the older versions the newer ones replace it.. but now you can't download anything.
Just downloaded the latest ESXi iso
I don't need ESX 4.1 I have ALL the ISO's.
My point was VM Ware usually doesn't remove the older stuff until the new stuff comes out.... Why the delay in the relase, when it was supposed to be yesterday.
These are the things that make me lose confidence in VM Ware.
I have *NEVER* seen MS play cat and mouse with software.. NOT *ONCE*
Just refered to your point that you cannot download anything now, which you can
If you didn't provide the links, the average user wouldn't be able to find them.
Go to the main VM Ware page, click support and downloads. Go to vsphere download licensed copy. NOTHING.
That's my point.. we shouldn't NEED a direct link.. the link provided no longer works..
Most users will just use what is there not a bookmark they saved.. So to me that means they moved or changed something.. in preparation for the NEW stuff which still has yet to appear.
Errr .. do you think I know the download link by heart ?!?
I went through vmware.com
http://downloads.vmware.com/d/info/datacenter_cloud_infrastructure/vmware_vsphere/4_1
Sorry, you lost me there I think ...

You would be surprised, I thought you did bookmark the locations.
That link STILL does not work for me.. but it's the ONLY one that doesn't. There are a couple of other posts that say the same thing, so apparently you are doing something different (cached perhaps). Try a differernt browser.
I have IE, 2 different machines, Firefox, and Chrome.. NONE of those are working. It WAS working on Friday, now it's not.
ALL the other links work fine.. that's why I thought VM Ware changed something. So whatever you are doing must be caching the location that link no longer works, at least in my case (and the other posts where people noticed it)
I got nothing .. tried different locations and it works fine for me .. nothing to do with caching and I don't bookmark those links as I normally have the latest isos stored on our server and I only went to vmware.com today because of your response to test ..
Like I say - no idea .. if you got all your isos anyway but it bothers you still then open an SR
OK, well thanks a lot for being patient.. must be the sun spots. yeah that's what it is!
