Hi,
My client is running Virtual Center 2.0.2 build 50618 (which I think is Update 1) and ESX 3.0.2 build 61618 Update 1.
I'd like to upgrade the ESX hosts to v3.0.3-U1. Does the Virtual Center 2.0.2 build 50618 support ESX 3.0.3-U1?
Regards,
George.
Yes, but I suggest to upgrade also the vCenter Server.
PS: thread moved in VI area.

Thanks. What I'm going to be doing is a migration to vSphere 4.1. So I'm going to be building a new vCenter 4.1 host that I need to add the ESX hosts into. vCenter 4.1 doesn't support ESX 3.0.2 hosts, but it does support ESX 3.0.3-U1, so I was thinking of starting out by upgrading the hosts to 3.0.3 in the existing Virtual Center 2.0.2 environment and then shutdown the VC 2.0.2 server, build the new vCenter 4.1 server and add the hosts into it and then upgrade hosts one-at-a-time - i.e., vmotion VM's to the other 3.0.3 hosts - install ESXi 4.1, re-add to the vCenter 4.1, repeat for each ESX host untill all done.

About the compatibility matrix see:
http://www.vmware.com/pdf/vsphere4/r40/vsp_compatibility_matrix.pdf
Yep thanks, I've looked at that compatibility guide, which is how I know that ESX 3.0.3-U1 is compatible with vCenter 4.1.
Yes, it is compatible (check attachement)
First line ESX 3.0.3U1 with last column

Thanks. I just want to check for 100% certaity:- Does Virtual Center 2.0.2 build 50618 support ESX 3.0.3-U1?
i tried check in http://partnerweb.vmware.com/comp_guide/sim/interop_matrix.php but the minimum version shown is vcenter2.5 U6 (not support ESX3.0.3 U1), if 2.5 not support 3.0.3, vcenter 2.0.2 support.
