Converter fails at 61%

I am migrating a vm with VMware Converter, but it fails at 61% with the following error  FAILED:agent.internal.fault.IncompatibilityFault.summary

I am using VMware Converter version 4.0.0 build 12244 on ESX 3.5

seems to have gone on for a while... usually fails well before this.

Is this the standalone version you are talking about?

Release notes say converter 4.0 no longer supports ESX 2.5 no mention of 3.5 so that should not be the issue.

Suggest you check that what drives/ partitions you are converting.

If you have any utility partitions or stuff like that remove them. Also check for stuff like number of CPUS in physical box, nics, try stopping services that might hinder it etc

finally you will probably need to delete a partially converted VM.... as chances are you have some vmx files andp ossibly some vmdks already created.

by the way home come you are not using version 4.3?

Suggest you check that what drives/ partitions you are converting.. And be sure that you have selected Virtual Machine Version 7, and try the SCSI Logic Bus for the disk.
