Cannot power on virtual machine: Too many virtual machines.

Keep getting this error message and for unknown reason.  It runs fine for awhile after reboot, but then begins showing this error message.  I've tried uninstalling then reinstalling, but this problem eventually rears it's ugly head after awhile.  Any ideas what's going on or where I could look to see what's wrong?

Current Config:

MBP Core i7 2.66GHz

8GB RAM

Mac 10.6.8 (10K540)

VMWare Fusion 3.1.3 (416484)

Hi Zsoldier,

You can try a manual uninstall as mentioned in that thread:

Good luck.

Yeah, that was the first thing I tried.  Problem always seems to come back after awhile though.

Are there multiple vmware-vmx processes running in the background?  Check with Activity Monitor > Show All Processes

I did see multiple vmware-vmx processes when this was occurring.  I killed those processes and tried, but still would get that error message.  It's been a perplexing issue.  :smileyconfused:
