In the View 4.6 Install guide under the Supported OS for View Composer section it lists support for 2008 R2 (x64) with Service Pack of N/A. Does N/A mean that the SP version doesnt matter or does it mean that it needs to be a stock 2008 R2 install (ie. no SP)?
I think that just means that SP1 was around when they did their testing so they were unable to certify it and support it.
i also agree with the above statement, it should generally work fine or supported when the next release of view is out (when they have tested) ..
It means without service pack. At the time testing there was no service pack - This is what meant by VMware
But I think many are safely running View Composer on SP1. Based on my experience there was no harm in that.
I've tested all the View components (Composer, Secure Server, Connection Server) with the SP1 and actually I've not found any issue.
But of course you must follow supported configuration.
