Network NIC problems

Hello,

I post this message because I want to know if it's possible to change the NIC of my virtual machine.

Actually  shown as INTEL PRO 1000 MT, I want a BROADCOM (like the original one),  cause I have some trouble with the driver of the Intel that I can't  upgrade manually.

Can we emulate the NIC card with our preferred versions?

I just want to have the same card of the physical one (I use bridged option but without success).

In my VM I see a Intel card and on my physical machine a Broadcom card.

More details on my problem :

I  use Microsoft Lync (OCS) on my virtual machines, and I have RTP stream  only from one side (incoming to my VMs are OK, outgoing NOK).

The problem is known as KB834481 for Microsoft, the driver version was the problem.

Thank you for your time, and your help.

Hello,

I beleive depending on the network type you're using on your VM you will get the driver inside of your machines, make sure VMware tools are installed.

I don't think you can choose the driver you want because it has to understand the hypervisor.

Hello,

Thank you for your fast reply.

The screenshot that you send me, how I can access to this configuration?

I think maybe I need to change these settings.

I'm using VMware Workstation, and I already install VMware tools.

Thank you

Hello,

This screenshot is when you're adding a new NIC card. Remove the old NIC, apply the settings and then create or add/assign a new NIC to the VM.

I'm not sure about the types available for VMware Workstation.

Hello,

I have only this capabilities when I create a new Hardware, then a Network Adapter type.

Hello,

I resolved my problem.

VMware is supported by Lync server.

And the INTEL NIC is updated.

We didn't had the possibility to change the NIC driver, by default on VMware Workstation it's a INTEL PRO/1000 MT.

Thank you!
