Installing and configuring View 4.6 best practice

Hi all, I'm in the process to start working with View 4.6. This is my first version and I'm just wondering if someone can point me to some good docs and if they can point out some gotchas and other things to lookout for. the fardest I've gone so far is installing the connection server and when I launch the administration console the website does not resolve. Any idea.  Active directory has been configured as recommended already. So I think I'm missing a few steps in between or probably I forgot to install something before installing the connection server.

Thanks in advance.

Take a look at these documents:

http://www.vmware.com/pdf/view-46-architecture-planning.pdf

For upgrading from 4.5:

These documents should be enough to get you started. Also check this site: http://www.yellow-bricks.com/. There are many good article and how-tos that can help. Good luck and enjoy!

View setup is not so difficult, but you have to spend some some to configure in the right way your virtual desktop.

Official docs are good, but if you have access to the Partner Network you can find also some courses.

Of course, there are also some official courses on View.

Thanks for your reply. I'm still reading some of the documents, but I have one more question. The Virtual Center I want to use for this new View 4.6 deployment is already being used for a previous install of VIew 4.5. Will I be able to use the same VC Server for the new View 4.6 deployment, or will I need a new VC Server. Thanks

Yes, you should be able to use the same vCenter server for your View 4.6 upgrade. Just make sure to upgrade the composer service in virtual center to the latest version, then make sure to update the View agents in your base images and you should be ready to go.

Thanks, I installed  the View connection server but I'm not able to launch the administration console. It just keeps looking for website. Prior to the installation of the connection server I installed IIS and changed the port to 8080 since 80 is taken by the connection server. I get the security alert on the cert but after that I click ok and then it just hangs and nothing refresesh on the web page. Is there something else I need to do before setting this up. Again, I already have teh composer server all configured.
