I do not know Oracle's future plans for Sun Ray. However, I can tell you that we have been running about 40 Sun Ray 2 clients in an academic lab with VMware View 4.5/4.1. It seems to work very well for our applications. We run a virtual Sun Ray server as well.

Thanks,

Phil

one important thing is that to fully use the function of vmware view features (PCOIP), you need to ensure that the thin client does support such features. for me all thin client are the same.

Hello,

I last worked with SunRay two years ago. I don't know how is it now.
Could I connect SunRay 2 or 3 to VMware View 4.6 environment direct or I will need to install SUN/Oracle Secure Global Desktop software.
I don't want use SUN software but I would like to use SunRay devices.

Thanks a lot.

Maros

No, you still need to run Sun Ray Server software on a Solaris or Linux box. We've kinda sheleved our Sun Rays in favor of Wyse P20 zero clients.

I use SunRay here, and about 750 Tadpole laptops (Sun firmware on them).

I can honestly say that I hate the solution. No PCoIP on the roadmap at all. We have an on going issue with the laptops that do not allow USB redirection.

Not a happy customer!
