desing Storage

Good day Gents

I would like to know what the best storage design is for my Environment

We have 10 ESXi Ent+ 4.1 installed on HP blade BL460 G6, and one HP lefthand P4300 SAN Starter (iSCSI 1GB) with total size 40TB, right now we are planning to have only one storage

I know some of you will say that we will lose some feature like Svmotion …elc but we will increase our environment by adding another storage In it.

We get vCneter license standard and all hosts are connected to it, each ESXi will have its own virtual machines up to 15-20 VMs per host

Inside of those VMs we will have the following OSs:

Exchange2010, SCOM & SCCM 2007, Active Dir 2008, SQL 2008R2, Win 2008R2, Mic Lync 2010,  IFS application ( ERP) with orcal DB , and RHEL Squid server

my requirement for this design is two things:

1- have best performance between hosts and storage and also between VMs and storage

2- High availability

You can choose to make a single VMware Cluster with 10 hosts or two different clusters (for View for example a max 8 hosts is required).

About LUNs design keep the < 2 TB limit, so build several LUNs.

For RAID, choose a correct level related to your workload (I do not know how many spindles do you have but probably a RAID10 and/or 50 may be needed).

Andre, thanks for your fast reply, but I'm looking for best design for storage, sorry my friend but I'm not good in storage side

what make me worry is HA and Performance

How can I manage this one with the scenario I put it at first place,

OK say I have only 8 ESXi in my network, what is best design scenario for this one
