VM guest can't connect to DHCP (my router) after attaching a network cable & bridging

A few weeks ago my dog bit my network cable and I had to go wireless until I got another network cable. Well, during the mean time, I had to use NAT because bridging didn't work over wireless... During the time of procrastinating on a network cable, I reinstalled VMware Workstation 7.1.4. Well, now that I have a network cable, I decided to go ahead and set the network setting to bridge. Well, now for some reason it won't even pull an IP from the router. DHCP is indeed working fine on the router as I have a client PC that I'm working on, and it connected just fine wirelessly.

Any idea why this guest VM won't pull an IP address? I even try setting a static IP that isnt being used, still won't get out. Will I need to reinstall VMware Workstation every time I change NIC adapters or something? I've tried going to the Edit > Virtual Network Editor and resetting all the network components. Apparently that didn't work either. Not sure what else to do.

It works if I set it back to NAT but not bridged... Prior to my network cable being bitten by my shepherd, it worked.. Not sure what the hell is going on now. So annoying >_<

If I set my network adapter to bridged (for the vm guest), I try pinging my router (192.168.1.1) and get"PING: transmit failed, error code 1231."

Why would it work one time when using a network cable, then after using NAT for a few weeks and back to network cable, doesnt even work at all?

Disable automatic bridging for VMnet0 and select the target Network Adapter in the Virtual Network Editor.
