Continued Customizing in pool

I just created a test lab for the 4.1 vsphere. Everything works fine exepct that my View Connection Server within the pool shows my vm's status as "customizing". I can't figure this out. I checked the dns on the vm's and its good, rebooted vcs, vcenter and my host and still same. It also shows in Desktops that my agent is "unknown" for some reason. I haven't yet setup my database for my event viewer so I can't use that.

My vm's I don't want on a domain so I didn't set that up. Do they need to be added to the domain prior to making the snapshot? Thanks.

Parent Vm need not to be part of the domain. And the snapshot can be of non-domain VM. Vmware tools, and View agent shoould be installed properly before taking the snapshot. If the agent VM is XP and domain controller is 2K8, then install the patch KB944043 in agent before taking the snapshot

In general make sure the domain name is reachable from Agent VM, DNS is properly getting configured in agent VMs.

You can also refer Common errors with SVI Pools and View Composer

The agent status may show as "Unknown" until the configuration completes.

Thanks

I updated my patch and ended up joining the domain. My dns is set right on the vm's (but can't see them in dns server like i can see vcenter, vcs, viewcomposer) and I can ping everything by the name instead of IP. I can also log into my vm through vcenter and also rdp into my vm as well.

************ok, as i'm writing this my VCS has finally become available. This is ONLY AFTER I rdp into the guest vm. So, still not sure what the deal was. Thanks for the help, it could have just needed a ton of time and the patch. Who knows.************
