Advanced Troubleshooting course VCP

I took the VMware Vsphere: Install, Configure Mange course over a year but got delayed over other professional development issues. I am now i a location where we should be slowly transferring over to VSphere. I want to use my company training allowance to take Troubleshooting course.

Would this course be to advanced if I have not been actively work with VSphere lately? If so what course would you reccomend instead? Would it also help me to prepare for taking the VCP exam?

Maybe it would be worth while to Install, Configure and Manage Course again?  This will give a a good baseline to then move onto the Troubleshooting course?

I have the CBTnuggets for Vsphere 4 I plan on watching them before I go to the advanced class. Going to the basic class would seem to be a waste of time.

I'm a VCI who has delivered almost every vSphere course available. Those attending the Troubleshooting course are expected to know the content of the Install Configure Manage course - notice my deliberate use of the word "know" rather than "knew", but it sounds like you have a plan to refresh your knowledge anyway. There is little in the Troubleshooting course that will help with the VCP exam, it's content is better suited to the VCAP-DCA exam.

Scott.

I took my vSphere 4.0 Install,Confige & Manage training a year ago. Due to my other priorities, I attempted and passed vcp410 recently. If you have your own lab, then my suggestion is buy a decent book like masterig vsphere by scott lowe or CBT nuggets or Trainsignal or similar resources. then you may go ahead and take advanced training in trouble shooting. If you have enough budget  for both ICM and Trouble shooting, then consider your self as lucky and go for it.

Classic VMware answer, it depends.

Do you still have all your coursebooks and notes? It might be wise to re-visit these and see how much, if any, has slid down the cracks in your memory. If you go through the books saying 'easy, know that, no problem' then you might simply need to do the standard exam prep stuff. As Scott says, the VCP exam maps closer to the ICM than troubleshooting so this is where your primary focus needs to be.
